The Big Puzzle: What was the “Word of God” that was being sown in the Parable of the Sower?
In Luke 8:11 Jesus explains that the seed he was sowing out to everyone, (that would bring an abundant crop for some) was the "Word of God."
So, what was this "Word of God" that he was sowing? I doubt that he was passing out those Old Testament scrolls (so it was not the Bible).
Others have told me that the Word is Jesus. But that does not make any sense in this context. And others told me that his "Word" was his teachings. But the people who say that don’t explain what that particular teaching was, so I just assume they don’t know.
Do you know what Jesus was sowing in the Parable of the Sower? He called it the "Word of God" and said that people hear the word of God and "Do It." So what did he want those people "doing" so that they would have an abundant crop?
I have asked similar questions before, but no one has admitted they don’t know… but their answers lead me to think that they don’t know. Is anyone here willing to admit that they don’t know?
More context on the Kingdom Gospel is in my biography.
Scriptures is the "Word of God"
God wants us to know who He is and waht is His will for us.
The OT shows and prophesied the coming Messiah. It is the picture of the coming Messiah.
The NT is the fulfillment of all the prophesies. It is the caption of the Christ.
The Bible is the written word.
Christ is the "Living Word"
Jesus speaks that if you let Him and His word sink in your heart, you will have everlasting life and your good deeds would count for eternity.
John 15:5
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
NLT
11 "This is the meaning of the story: The seed is God’s message. 12 The seed that fell on the hard path represents those who hear the message, but then the Devil comes and steals it away and prevents them from believing and being saved.
See those last two words "being saved"?
It is the message of salvation through Jesus!
Any time you are exposed to truth from God, the "Word of God" is being sown in you. It can be truth from the bible, an encounter with Jesus, even a scripture quote. The message in a nutshell is:
Mankind is sinful and separated from God, but Jesus came to die to restore us into a right relationship with God.
GRACE unto you, and peace,
from God our Father and the Lord JC.
When it comes to parabolic Jesus the word of God can be Law or Grace, depending on which God you’re referring to of high and higher Gods; Which is why there’s two dividing asunders in association with the "sharper" word of God in Hebrews 4:12. Also when it comes to good seed, such could still be law is good or grace is good, that is if you didn’t know law is both good and evil.
But when it comes to Christ(is the end of the law) the only word of the only true and wise God is grace, truth thereof.
And when it comes to reconciling the world, the word of reconciliation is grace, for law imputes sin and alienates, but grace doesn’t impute sin and reconciles.
The GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.
